GSSIT is a technical institute offering undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in several streams of Engineering, IT and Management. It has over 1,500 students.The college also supports environmental measures. The main Avenue is flanked on either side by green covers, the irrigation of which is done with waste water of the campus, treated in the water treatment plant. The hot water storage and supply system of the on campus boarding is entirely solar powered. The campus also houses an environmental-friendly cafeteria. Recently a group of four higher semester students invented,how to increase mileage using water.

Admission Details
Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the four years BE degree Course should have passed the two years of PUC Examinations (with Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as Optional Subjects) conducted by the Pre-University Board of Karnataka State or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visweshvaraya Technological University and should have obtained not less than 45% of marks in the optional subjects.Candidates seeking admission to second year of the four year BE Degree Course must have passed the three year Diploma Course of the Board of Technical Examination of Karnataka Government in the respective branches / courses or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visweshvaraya Technological University and must have obtained not less than 50% marks in the Final Diploma Examinations.
In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST & category I/II/III (Karnataka students only), the minimum percentage of marks shall not be less than 40% in the optional subjects as per rules.
Admission will be according to reservation policy of the State Government and the eligibility criteria may change from time to time. The candidates seeking admission are required to check the eligibility criteria before taking the admission.
Eligibility Criteria
- A Pass in II PUC or (10+2) Higher Secondary or equivalent qualifying examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST, category 1 and OBC category candidates) in Physics and mathematics as compulsory subject along with Chemistry/ Biotech/Computer Science/Electronics/Biology as optional subjects in qualifying examination with minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST, category 1 and OBC category candidates).
- English should compulsory be one of the languages studied
