Computer Science Engineering – PESIT Bangalore
Computer science (or computing science) is the study of the
theoretical foundations of information and computation and their implementation
and application in computer systems. Computer science has many sub-fields; some
emphasize the computation of specific results (such as computer graphics),
while others relate to properties of computational problems (such as
computational complexity theory). Still others focus on the challenges in
implementing computations.
These courses are revised frequently and include current
topics such as Web 2.0, data analytic, cloud computing, mobile systems
engineering, Web technologies and so on. In addition to the regular curriculum,
the students get an opportunity to work as teaching and research assistants
under the faculty members who are constantly involved in sponsored research and

Computer Science Department in PESIT:
Computer Science & Engineering department imparts high
quality technical education to its students with the help of its state of the
art computing facilities and highly qualified teaching and supporting staff. It
keeps pace with the latest technological developments and thus helps students
stand in good stead in their professional life.
The department offers Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
and Engineering with an intake of 120 that teaches the latest developments in
different areas like computer software, hardware and networking,
microprocessors, operating system, database, etc. The department regularly
conducts workshops, short term training programs and industrial tours. Licensed
vendor software like Visual Studio, Turbo C and Borland C++ on both Windows and
Linux Operating Systems are used. The department has subscribed to Microsoft
Dreamspark Premium account which entitles genuine Microsoft software for use in
the labs.

the areas they teach. Not only do they provide a solid grounding in the

Placement and future prospects:
PESIT, Bangalore has well designed training & Placement
cell. The pay package for freshers ranges from Rs. 3.13 lakh to Rs. 9.30 lakh a
year and the average salary is Rs. 4.50 lakh a year.
TCS has been the largest recruiter where it placed 450
students. Followed by HCL with 135 students, Wipro 121 students and IBM 75
students. DeShaw & Co the well known financial firm offered a highest pay
of Rs 9.3 lakhs to a final year student.
Other companies which recruited the students of PESIT were Infosys – 160
students, ITC InfoTech -27, Igate -23, Accenture -21, Parot systems -12,Tesco
-10, L&T -6 and others in Oracle, Modelytics, JDA software, Kennametal,
Ashok Leyland etc.
