institute is an Autonomous Institute is belongs to the Visvesvaraya
Technological University, Belgaum and Approved and certified by AICE, Govt of
India, New Delhi and Approved by Govt. of Karnataka.

The institute campus at Bangalore is located in sprawling 23
acres land. The Campus is a Sylvan learning center located off the
International Airport road near Yelahanka, Bangalore.

comprising of seven Under Graduate and Five Post Graduate in Engineering
besides MBA and MCA. Six Departments of NMIT are offering Doctoral Programs of
VTU / Mysore University.

Thermal Power Engineering:
Thermal engineering is that branch of Mechanical Engineering
that encompasses technologies dealing with heating and cooling systems,
transfer of heat, and fluid mechanics.
Thermal Power Engineering enables the development of long

alternative energy services such as wind, solar & biomass as well as
sustainable energy production from existing sources such as coal and gas.

year 2010-2011.

laboratories used by the MTech students for their practical training are well
equipped and include, Heat Transfer Laboratory, I C Engines Laboratory, CAD
Laboratory, Fluid Machinery Laboratory and the recently built modern
Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory.
Placement Cell:
The Training & Placement Department is an indispensable
pillar of the Institute. It has an important role to play in the student's
prospects for employability. Placements provide an opportunity for students to
demonstrate, in the real world, the application of the knowledge they have
acquired over the years. This department continuously strives to help students

Admission to Master of Technology (M.Tech.):
Admission to M.Tech course shall be open to candidates who
have passed the prescribed qualifying examination (B.E./B.Tech) as specified in
ANNEXURE with not less than 50% marks in aggregate of all the all the
semesters/year of the degree examination. (Cumulative sum of secured marks of
all the semesters/ years divided by the sum of maximum marks). However, in case
of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and Category-1, aggregate marks
shall not be less than 45%.
