"Education" is the key for social up-liftment of the masses and essential for economic development of any country. With this vision and foresight, his holiness Jagadguru Sri. Sri. Sri. Dr. Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, the 23rd pontiff of Suttur Mutt established Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara Mahavidyapeetha in the year 1954.
The JSS Mahavidyapeetha is the central body running over 250 educational, cultural and Religious institutions covering right from primary to professional education. The institutions are mostly spread across the length and breadth of Karnataka state and a few institutions are also located in Tamilnadu and Uttar Pradesh.
