THE BANGALORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is located in the heart of Bangalore, the "Electronic City" and "Silicon Valley" of India. The institution came into being in August, 1979 under the auspices of Vokkaligara Sangha, Bangalore. The institute offered the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Instrumentaion Technology Telecommunication & Information Science & Engineering. Bangalore Institute of Technology has always been at the forefront of modern technology and is credited with the introduction of the first full-fledged COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING degree in Karnataka.Thus, the institute has identified future growth areas and incorporated various courses over the years. At present B.I.T offers 9 undergraduate, 6 post graduate and a Ph.D course(s) with a student strength of more than 2500.
Bangalore Institute of Technology came into existence in Aug. 1979, under the auspices of Vokkaligara Sangha, Bangalore with an intake of 242 students. The present strength of the institute is 2510. The institute is provided with the necessary modern infrastructural facilities. BIT has high qualified and experienced teachers. Several companies have recruited BITians. It is of pride and jubilation that the students of BIT are spread all over the world and are holding important positions as engineers and technologists.
B.E.ADMISSION NOTICE: 2011-12
The Institute has approval from AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to VTU Belgaum, Karnataka. The Admissions are as per Karnataka state CET and COMEDK rules. Management Quota seats are available as per the quota allotted by Government of Karnataka. Interested candidates can collect the application from the office or can be downloaded from the website( www.bit-bangalore.org). At the time of submission a DD for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of Principal, B.I.T. is to be enclosed.
