Electronics & Communication Engineering:
The Electronics & Communication Engineering is a
combination of electronics and communications engineering, management and
computer science, and focuses on the systems of communication, electromagnetic
fields, microprocessor, electronic circuits and systems, computers, automatic
controls, systems integration, signal processing and information system.
Electronics & Communication Engineering develops
everyday devices such as transistors, integrated circuits and printed circuit
boards (PCBs) which can be used in computers, MP3 players, cell phones,
television to name a few.
The Electronics & Communication Engineering involves the
transmission of information across channels such as a coax cable, optical fiber
or free space. You can work on designing equipment such as routers, switches,
multiplexers and electronic switching systems, copper telephone facilities and
fiber optics.
Job Prospects of an Electronics & Communication Engineer:
Electronics & Communication Engineers work in the
consumer electronics, aviation and avionics, manufacturing, electricity
generation and distribution, communications, transportation,
telecommunications, radio and television, computer applications, hospital
diagnostic equipment and offshore industries.
This branch is combined with other branches like civil,
structural and electrical engineering, One of the basic work that are involved
by the engineers include research and development of satellite, design, cable
systems, radio waves, mobile phones, internet, etc.
The engineers also work on cross functional engineering
branch projects to utilize the facets of electronics and communication
engineering. The basic tasks of the ECE engineers include developing new
systems, circuits and devices or develop existing technology.

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
was founded in the year 2001 and is currently running B.E, M.Tech and Research
programs.
The department is headed by Dr. Vipula Singh, who has around
18 years of experience in teaching and research. She has obtained her doctorate
from Guru Gobind Singh Indra Prastha University New Delhi in the area of image
processing.
