JEE Main 2014 Application Form

The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through JEE Main 2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in. The online application process will start from 15th November 2013 onwards. The last date for application is 26th December 2013. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main and JEE Advanced are different. The candidates are requested to read the information bulletin carefully and themselves ensure their eligibility as per the criteria laid down for JEE Main as well as JEE Advanced. In order to facilitate the aspiring candidates, the JEE Main secretariat has designated Facilitation Centres across the country who will help the candidates in filling online application without any charge. The list of such institutes is available on the JEE Main website and in JEE Main 2014 information bulletin.

Online Application Form Submission
  1. Online Application has to be submitted through JEE (Main)-2014 website www.jeemain.nic.in. The aspiring candidate should furnish all the details and upload scanned image of his/her photograph and signature while filling up the ‘On-line’ Application.
  2. Candidates are required to take a print out of the computer generated acknowledgement slip after successful submission of data and payment of fees and keep the same in the safe custody for any future reference.
Important Note – As for this year and for the first time, the entire application process is online, including uploading of photograph & signature and payment of fees; the candidates are required NOT to send any document to JEE (Main) Secretariat.

Steps to be followed while filling Online Application Form.
  1. Download the information bulletin and read it carefully to ensure your eligibility.
  2. Read the contents of Online Format and instructions for applying online given in the Information Bulletin and keep the entire information ready.
  3. Keep the Scanned Images of your Photograph, Signature and Left Hand Thumb impression ready in JPG format only.
  4. Fill in the Online Application Form.
  5. Upload Scanned Images of Photograph, Signature and Thumb Impression.
  6. Pay Examination Fee by Debit/Credit card or e-Challan (generated after submission of details in online application form)
  7. Download Acknowledgement Slip and keep the same in safe custody.
NOTE - The candidate should mention only his/her own or parents’ mobile no. and Email ID while submitting the On-Line application, as all the communications will be sent to the candidates on their registered Mobile Number and E-mail ID only.

JEE Main 2014 Eligibility Criteria

A. Date of Birth
General Candidates - Born or after October 01, 1989 
Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Candidates - Born or after October 01, 1984

Note - Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.

B. Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)
Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2012 or 2013; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2014 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2014.

Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying Examination in 2011 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2015 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2014. The candidates who appeared in class 12th/Equivalent Qualifying Examinations in 2011, did not pass in 2011, but passed in 2012 are also not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2014.

C. Number of Attempts
The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE Main shall be limited to 03 (three).

D. No. of Attempts & Age Limit for the States of Maharashtra & Odisha
Since the states of Maharashtra and Odisha have now joined JEE Main system from 2014. The age limit, for admission to institutions in these states which were earlier admitting candidates based on their state level examinations, will be as per their past practice only. The number of attempts in such cases will also remain same as per their past practice. This will however be obviously not applicable for admission to IITs/NITs/IIITs/CFTIs.

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2014

Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the details of JEE Main 2014 (Joint Entrance Examination). Joint Entrance Examination is the all India Entrance Examination conducted for Admission into the Engineering Courses for NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions) & other participating State Government Institutions.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) will be conducted in two parts:
  1. JEE Main is for the Admission into NITs, IITs, CFTIs other participating institutions.
  2. JEE Advanced is only for the Admission in IITs.
The JEE Main 2014 will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions, participating State Government Institutions etc. The admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions under several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the JEE Main 2014.

For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs (International Institute of Information Technology) etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE Main 2014. The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization.

The States of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha have joined JEE Main system. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE Main 2014 application form online.

The JEE Main will also be the eligibility test for the JEE Advanced, which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs/ ISM Dhanbad.

SJBIT Engineering Eligibility 2013

  1. Admission to BE, a minimum of 45 % marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the PUC examination of Karnataka or its equivalent examination is a must. In case of SC/ST candidates, this percentage is fixed at 40%. Foreign/NRI students are also admitted to the BE courses. They must hold a valid student VISA.
  2. Admission to M.Tech, course shall be open to candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying (BE/B.Tech) examination with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters / years of the degree examination (cumulative sum of secured marks of all the semester / years divided by the sum of maximum marks). In case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST/Cat -1, marks shall not be less than 45%.
  3. Admission to MBA, course shall be open for the candidates who have passed the Bachelor degree with not less than fifty percent i.e. integer 50% (rounding – off aggregate percent is not permitted) of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. In the case candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and Cat-1, the aggregate percent of marks of all the years of the qualifying examination shall not be less than forty five percent i.e. integer 45% (rounding –off aggregate percent is not permitted).

  1. Admission for the first year of the course shall be open to the students who have passed the two years Pre-University Examination (Science) conducted by Karnataka State Pre-University Board. AIT Engineering Eligibility 2013

Pass in 10+2 / Higher Secondary (HS) / Pre University (PUC) / 'A' Level (with 12 years of schooling) or its equivalent with English as one of the languages. Shall have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following : Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Science. Acharya Institute of Technology admits students as per prevailing rules and regulations of VTU.

Acharya Institute of Technology admits 50 percent students on the basis of their rank in the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Government of Karnataka and 30 percent students through the Undergraduate Entrance Test of the COMEDK. It also admits 20 percent students under a management quota without merit requirements and has admitted about 150 foreigners from 25 countries under "PIO Quota".

There is a lateral entry scheme in place, by which students holding diploma degrees can enter directly into the second year of study in engineering. After completing their graduation, students receive a BE degree from the VTU.

Acharya Institute of Technology, or AIT, is a private co-educational engineering and management college in Bangalore, India, affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). BMSIT Engineering Eligibility 2013

  1. The candidate shall have passed the second year Pre University or XII standard or equivalent examinations held preceding the entrance test with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following subjects:- Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology, Electronics and has secured not less than forty five (45%) percent of the aggregate marks in optional subjects with English as one of the language for admission to Engineering & Technology courses.
  2. Provided further that the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility shall be forty percent (40%) of aggregate in optional subjects in case of candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC specified in the relevant Government order for the purpose of reservation in respect of Engineering and Technology courses.
    Note: The relaxation in academic eligibility is extended only to Karnataka candidates belonging to the SC, ST and OBC.

  1. PESSE admits students to undergraduate courses based on their Karnataka CET or their COMEDK UGET Test Ranks.

  1. A candidate who has passed 10 + 2 pattern of examination (equivalent to the two year Pre University in Karnataka) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology/ Electronics as optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible to pursue an undergraduate degree in engineering at MSRIT. 
  2. The eligibility for admission is 40% marks in the qualifying examination in case of SC/ST, Category-1 and OBC Category candidates. 
  3. This provided that the marks obtained by the candidate in biotechnology/ computer science/ biology/ electronics in the qualifying examination will be considered in the place of chemistry. 
  4. In case the marks obtained in chemistry is less for the required aggregate percentage for the purpose of determination of eligibility (and not for the purpose of determination of rank, in respect of engineering/ technology courses).
Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch)
  1. A candidate who has passed 10 + 2 pattern of examination (equivalent to the two year Pre University in Karnataka) with Mathematics as one of the optional subjects and secured a minimum 50% marks in aggregate in all subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible for admission to the Bachelors of Architecture program.

  3. This provided that the candidate should also appear and secure a minimum of 40% marks in NATA (including SC/ ST, Category-1, and OBC Category candidates) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
  1. MS Ramaiah offer a 2-year MBA program, open to candidates who have a 3-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the years of the degree examination. 
  2. In case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and Category-1, the aggregate percent of the marks of all the years of the qualifying examination shall not be less than 40%.
Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
  1. This is a 3-year program, open to candidates who have passed a 3 year bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the years of the degree examination with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Science/ Computer Programming/ Computer Applications/ Business Mathematics/ Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects/ electives at degree level. 
  2. This provided that the candidate who has studied and passed one of the subjects specified in the first proviso in the Pre University Course with 50% of marks in that subject will also be considered for admission. In case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and Category-1, 45% of the marks in that subject will be considered for admission.
Master of Technology (M.Tech)
MSRIT offers the following 2-year M.Tech programs for which candidates with a B.E/ B.Tech. degree in the relevant discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate are eligible.

MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) is an autonomous private engineering college located in Bengaluru, Karnataka and is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University head quartered at Belgaum, Karnataka, India. The college was established in 1962 and recently celebrated Golden Jubilee. From Aug 2007, MSRIT has been academically autonomous for both Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programs.
