Thapar University Exam Eligibility 2013

A candidate shall be eligible for admission in the UG programmes subject to the following conditions:
The candidate

1. has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Computer Science.
2. has appeared in JEE (Main)-2013.
3. possesses a good moral character.
4. is a citizen of India.
5. is born on or after October 1, 1988 (5 years relaxation in age for SC/ST/PH candidates).

The admission shall be made on the basis of merit of score in JEE (Main)-2013 and normalised score in Class 12th or other qualifying exam as declared by CBSE (60% & 40% weightage respectively).

Note: The top two toppers of the recognized Boards of India in the exams held in 2013, shall be given direct admission to the first year of UG program i.e the entrance test score of such students shall not be required for admission. They shall be allocated branch of their choice. Such candidates shall have to furnish proof of being toppers from their respective boards. Tuition fee shall also be waived off for such students provided they maintain minimum CGPA of 8.50 in subsequent semesters.

Thapar University Exam 2013

Thapar University, formerly Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, was founded in 1956 by Karam Chand Thapar. The university is situated in Patiala, Punjab. It is among top ranked engineering college of India - ranked best in Punjab and in top 20 at the All India level. It is the first college of Punjab that started admitting students exclusively through All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE). A Centre of Relevance and Excellence (CORE) has been set up at Thapar University by TIFAC Mission REACH of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India in its first phase of setting up eight CORES at various Institutes and Universities spread all over the country.
Science and Technology Entrepreneur’s Park (STEP) has been established jointly by Thapar University and DST, Govt. of India.
Thapar University has grown in size and activities during the last five decades of its existence. Thapar University was granted full autonomy and the status of a Deemed University in 1985 UGC.

AIT Application Procedure 2013

1. JEE (Main) Application Form should be filled before filling AIT Application Form.  The JEE (Main) Roll No must be endorsed on the AIT Application Form before submitting it to AIT. Failure to do so would result in rendering the AIT Application Form null and void.
2. Online application form is available on our website www.aitpune.com. Application fee of Rs 750/- can be paid through credit/debit card or netbanking. In addition candidate will  need to pay a processing charge of Rs 37/-
3. By hand : A limited quantity of prospectus (hard copies) with application form will be available at AIT, Pune, HQ Commands and Headquarters AWES on payment of Rs 750/- through bank DD of a nationalised bank drawn in favour of  Director, AIT and payable at Pune. No payment through cheque (including at-par cheques) will be accepted.
4. By Post : Prospectus with application form can also be obtained by post from AIT on payment of Rs 820/- through bank DD drawn in favour of Director, AIT payable at Pune.
   Note:-
   
   1. Candidates are advised to use online facility for applying as far as possible.
   2. Cost of prospectus will not be refunded, if returned.
5. Last date for submission of completed Application Form is 30 Apr 2013. After that AIT forms will be accepted alongwith a late fee of  Rs 500/-   till 5 May 2013.
6. Admission at AIT, Pune, will tentatively take place three weeks after the date of declaration of JEE (Main) All India Rank.  Admission schedule and Joining Instructions will be hosted on the AIT website www.aitpune.com.
7. Filling up of JEE (Main) form and AIT Form is mandatory. Failing to fill up any one of the forms will lead to rejection of admission to AIT.

For the BE courses commencing July 2013, 300 seats are available at AIT (120 seats in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, 60 seats each in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Technology), for wards of Army personnel through JEE (Main) All India Rank.

Army Institute of Technology Application Form

AIT Eligibility Criteria 2013

The eligibility criteria for admission to AIT is given below :

1. The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:-
   1. Children of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army.
   2. Children of  ex  Army  personnel   granted/ awarded   regular   pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/ invalided medical board.  This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.
   3. Children of ex Army personnel who have taken discharge or released after ten years of service.
2. Adopted /Step children and Children of Remarried Widows.
   1. Adopted Child of Army personnel if adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.
   2. Step Children are eligible provided they are born from a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army who is other wise eligible.
3. Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases.
   1. Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force(IN/IAF).  Wards of only those ex Army medical officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy or Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for atleast 10 years.
   2. Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS/ MNS/TA Personnel.
      1. Children of APS personnel classified  as  ex- servicemen as per Govt of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated 19 Jul 89.
      2. Children of those APS  personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
      3. Children of APS personnel, who are directly recruited into APS who have competed 10 years of service and of those who as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS without reversion to P&T Department after completing their minimum pensionable service of which 10 years was in the Army.
      4. Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
      5. Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.
4. The candidate must fulfill the age criteria requirements as per JEE Main 2013.
5. Must be an Indian citizen, or a PIO who obtains Indian citizenship before admission.

The Institute obtained accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in May 2007 and
reaccreditation for three departments and first time for IT Dept is being taken up from 18 to 20 Jan, 2013 and was awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certification for quality Management and administration in Aug
2005 and re-certification in Aug 2008 and Feb 2012.
